Why I practice Baptiste Yoga

In my late 30s, I was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I barely had any energy to get out of bed. Feeling weak and depressed led me to my first Baptiste Yoga class in Seattle in 2007. It was the beginning of my recovery. My dedicated practice transformed my body, making me stronger, more flexible, and leaner; I gained a sense of peace, which I lacked during my stressful corporate IT career; and, I reduced my CFS symptoms and alleviated my insomnia. I became hooked on Baptiste Yoga, set an intention to teach, and quickly found myself in Level One teacher training with Baron Baptiste, and Level Two and Art of Assisting soon thereafter.

Why I teach Baptiste Yoga

I love encouraging students to choose ease and reduce struggle in their practice, and in their lives. I also teach yin, restorative, and kids yoga, and lead workshops and retreats. Off the mat, I am a mom, a wife, a volunteer, a Reiki practitioner, and I teach mindfulness in schools. As often as possible, I am IN the ocean or climbing mountains, for real or in my dreams.

My promise to you

To generate playfulness, presence, power, and ease. To inspire and connect. To see you and offer tools to elevate your practice. To shift you from thinking to sensing, from head to heart. To empower, whether jumping into handstand or surrendering in savasana. To offer transformation, on and off your mat.
