Why I practice Baptiste Yoga
Growing up in the Boston area, I developed a strong yoga practice in high school, and many of my most influential teachers were Baptiste-trained. Following college, I lost that practice, until I walked through the doors of Baptiste Power Yoga SF right as the city began to open up in 2022. It immediately felt like home. I practice Baptiste Yoga to remind myself that I don’t have to take life too seriously, and that I can cultivate the tools within myself to let go of the things that aren’t serving me. The heat, the familiarity of the sequence, and the community are a ritual through which I can rediscover the goofy kid inside of me, and continually relearn the lesson that both suffering and joy are states of mind.

Why I teach Baptiste Yoga
Baptiste Yoga is built around a wonderfully simple and yet powerful methodology that translates millennia of yogic wisdom to a practical set of tools that work within our cultural context. The practice of yoga is fundamentally about learning how to purify the world inside ourselves, so we can shine that light out into the world around us. Teaching Baptiste Yoga connects my words to my heart (instead of my head), as part of a beautiful community of practitioners who are up to some cool things far bigger than any one of their individual selves.

My promise to you
I promise that if you practice consistently, including and especially when it feels the hardest, you’ll be amazed by the ease you find. As a teacher, I promise to show up for you fully, and to do my best to give you tools to access joy, wonder, and vitality, both on and off your mat.

Little flower–but if I could understand
What you are, root and all, and all in all,
I should know what God and man is.
